Beth A. Kase
Beth Kase joined Saphier and Heller in 1991.  She has represented numerous health care providers in a variety of health care business, regulatory, and real estate matters, including Stark and fraud and abuse regulatory matters, joint ventures, business acquisitions, contract matters, hospital and ambulatory care matters, licensing, Medicare and Medi-Cal reimbursement and various billing matters, telemedicine, diagnostic imaging and clinical laboratory arrangements, dialysis center matters, pharmacy matters, skilled nursing facility matters, physician matters, nonprofit entity matters, medical spa arrangements, and negotiation and documentation of business transactions and leases.
Beth has been a speaker to numerous health care provider groups on various issues including Stark II, physician group formation and employment contracts, reimbursement issues, silent PPOs, and the new workers’ compensation medical provider networks. She recently spoke to the Nonprofits and Unincorporated Organizations Committee of the State Bar of California regarding joint ventures between nonprofit entities and for profit entities.

Beth is the Chair of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Healthcare Law Section.  She co-organized the first annual Los Angeles County Medical Association/LACBA Healthcare Law Section program held March 2010, which focused on legal risk issues confronting physicians and medical groups. She has chaired, moderated and/or co-organized  LACBA Healthcare Law Section programs on healthcare business bankruptcies (April  2009), managed care contracting issues (March 2008), non-compete issues affecting healthcare businesses (March 2007), physician employment issues (February 2005), and on the new medical provider networks in the workers’ compensation system (November 2004).

Beth served on the Nonprofit and Unincorporated Organizations Committee of the State Bar of California in 2007-2008.

Beth received her J.D. degree in 1983 from the Law Center of the University of Southern California, where she received the Law Center's prestigious Shattuck Award.  She received her B.A. degree from Tufts University magna cum laude.
