Industrial Medicine Clinics

Like Saphier and Heller's work for other types of clinics and urgent care centers, the legal work for industrial medicine clinics can be straightforward or complex, often depending on whether non-physicians are involved. Regulatory issues frequently need to be considered, including corporate practice of medicine, fee-splitting, self-referral laws, and anti-kickback (fraud and abuse) statutes.

Our work for industrial medicine clinics also includes the provision of advice regarding workers’ compensation laws.  Please see Outlining Workers’ Compensation Reforms, by Beth A. Kase, appearing in Southern California Physician (August 2004).

Our services also include advice regarding the structuring of transactions and the preparation of management service agreements and other contracts.  Professional corporation work, physician employment agreements, and non-competition issues also may be involved.
